Peru is one of the most diverse countries for birds, in terms of total
numbers as well as in terms of endemism. From plankton-rich offshore waters
with an abundant seabird life to coastal deserts, deciduous woodland, Andean
scrub, alpine glaciers, dry puna steppeland, boggy paramo marshes,
fairy-like polylepis groves, lush cloudforests and the vast Amazonian
wilderness, Peru boasts an extraordinary wealth of biodiversity and ranks
among the most intriguing birdwatching destinations on earth.
We have spent months in the field, visiting all the major habitat zones of
this remarkable country. We are planning to conduct an Aves Tour to Peru in
the near future, so keep alert.
Meanwhile, please contact us if you have inquiries about birdwatching in
this fascinating country, and we will be glad to assist you.
You may find our publication "A Birdwatchers' Site Guide to Peru" (Rheindt,

A Birdwatcher's Site Guide to Peru
worthwhile when planning a field trip to Peru.
Though older and partly out-dated, it is still the only site guide
publication that strictly focusses on Peru. To order it, drop us an e-mail
